Where Jungle Cruise sits in Disneyland Park

Jungle Cruise is in Adventureland, one of the themed areas within Disneyland Park. The original attraction opened at Disneyland Park on July 17, 1955. At roughly 0.7 miles from Little Boy Blue Motel, it is part of the nearby Disneyland Resort area.

Disneyland Park attractions sit within a larger resort that also includes Disney California Adventure Park. If you are planning time at both parks, the Disney California Adventure Park guide covers what to plan before you go.

What is the Jungle Cruise ride like?

What is the Jungle Cruise ride like?

Jungle Cruise is a narrated boat journey aboard a canopied tramp steamer, described by Disney as a 10,000-mile trip. The scenes along the route include an ancient Cambodian shrine, a safari camp overrun by gorillas, an Indian elephant bathing pool, the African Veldt, and Schweitzer Falls.

The attraction’s style changed over time. It began with a more educational approach based on Disney’s True-Life Adventure films. In the early 1960s, Walt Disney introduced more drama and asked animator Marc Davis to sketch humorous gags.

Queue, boarding, and accessibility checks

Queue, boarding, and accessibility checks

Disney says guests may remain in a wheelchair or ECV on Jungle Cruise, and its park guide identifies a wheelchair- and ECV-accessible boat. For mobility access, check in with a Cast Member at the attraction’s exit. The ride is suitable for guests of any height.

If you have a concern about the queue, speak with a Cast Member at the attraction. A Location Return Time may be available to guests who cannot experience a queue because of its nature or condition in light of their needs.

A Cast Member can explain whether this applies and, if assigned, give you a return time comparable to the current standby wait and tell you where to return.

For Rider Switch, the entire group should speak with the attraction’s greeting Cast Member. Party 2 can include up to two people, whose admission media or tickets are scanned. After Party 1 rides, eligible members of Party 2 return as directed for a rescan and may use the designated return line instead of waiting in the regular queue.

Fitting Jungle Cruise into a Disneyland day

Fitting Jungle Cruise into a Disneyland day

Start by locating Adventureland on the Disneyland Park map, then check the attraction’s operating information for your visit. If queue access or Rider Switch is relevant to your group, ask a Cast Member before joining the line so you know which instructions apply.

For a park day that includes drawing, Animation Academy is another attraction to plan around; the Animation Academy guide explains how to join a drawing session.
